Description:

Students will be expected to work under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian in their work environment and complete the following duties: Complete nutrition assessments for individuals with developmental disabilities using the Nutrition Care Process. Assist RD with counseling, interviewing, and observation of individuals. Complete menu and meal planning tasks that follow appropriate USDA guidelines. Assist RD with meal observations at group homes to ensure proper compliance with diets and meal plans. Witness the team process and the RD functioning in that process to present the nutritional needs of individuals. Develop special materials and inservices as instructed by the RD to educate staff and team members. Complete other work related duties commensurate of an entry level dietitian.
